Dream A Little Dream
Enjoy what little bloggin ya get over the next few weeks outta me cause there's a good chance it's gonna be few and far between. To let everyone in on my private-little world (which if you've ever noticed, is only vaguely alluded to in this column), I'm attempting to buy a house. Not just any house mind you, but in my mind, amounts to my dream house. Problem being that my credit is horrible because I have yet to be able to right the wrongs from '96-'99 (I'll get that life story posted one of these days), and it's not like I have financial security or nothin. I get by and all, but to say this place is a little out of range is an understatement. At which point anyone reading this goes "Uhhhhh...so how can this be an option in the first place??". Answer: It's my Mom's house. As I mentioned months back, she lost her mind and got remarried leaving her with this beautiful house and no one to live in it. So it ends up on the market and to make a long story short, everything has fallen into place that aside from the minor issue of having $200,000, it's a perfect setup for me. About 5 miles from the TV studio and plenty of room for all the junk I have collected over the past XXX years. As insane as THIS sounds, buying that house will actually be CHEAPER for me than the current money sucking pit that I rent. Plus, it'll be about 200 less miles a week that I'm on the road. Not too shabby. However, until that date comes, I'm pretty much living on an excruciating day-by-day rollercoaster. Just to get to the point I'm at now where this can be seriously considered was touch enough, but sealing the deal seems almost impossible at times. Anyone that was around me last weekend at the show and whatnot, knows I wasn't traditional Spaz. Matty even asked me about it yesterday and it's pretty tough to deny what I'm going through emotionally right now. For me, this is IT. If I can pull this off somehow by the grace of God, it's a life-changing move that benefits not just me, but a whole bunch friends and a certain wrestling promotion that I'm kinda tight with. But if it falls through the cracks, I'm probably gonna have a nervous breakdown as alot of my hopes and dreams are gonna go up in smoke. That may sound a little much, but I have been patient for YEARS. I've always allowed myself to settle for less and have always kicked my ass later for making so many stupid decisions and mistakes over the years. This is my one glaring opportunity to right a lot of wrongs and fix just about everything that's wrong with my life. I know it's not like I'm gonna wake up the next morning and never have a worry in the world, but this is gonna go a long ways in me making my life something I'm proud of 7 days a week, rather than just 1 day a week.
My apologies now to anyone I'm around if I give off a "I just wanna die" vibe in the next few weeks. It's VERY difficult when you want something this bad and you're already high strung enough as it is trying to pull it off and on top of everything else, you're greeted with criticism and finger pointing about how you're doing this wrong or that wrong. Trying to keep everyone happy, from family to friends and so on is nearly impossible and I can feel myself breaking down everytime any criticism falls my way. Even more than wanting this, I NEED this. Patience is a virtue, but if everyone understood just HOW patient I have been over the past nine years when it came to lowering my standards of living and then never being able to crawl back out of that hole, they would understand why my patience and sanity is running thin.
More than ANYthing else in the world, I want this home. Not because it's just a "nice home". It's my "Serenity", as others have dubbed it. My peace of mind on one hand...An open door for all friends, past and present. A door that I have never been comfortable enough with in the past to open...and yes, production central for CWF television. I could go on and on. After all, that's all I do in my head as of late. Dream of the future. Dream of what could be. Fear what may not be. The stars have aligned, but there's still that one giant hurdle left to climb. In the real world it's called a cosigner....in my current world, it will be called an angel.
I think you get the general idea there, so let's move on...as if I didn't have enough on my mind this Saturday is "Triumph", home of the 5th Annual CWF Rumble, my favorite event of the year. This has serious potential to be the best ever, and unquestionably, will probably be the most organized. And really, the card from top to bottom, should be as solid as any all year. It also marks the return of Kamakazi Kid, who I can't wait to see on Friday night once he gets in from Florida. For the newbies, Kazi pretty much died in two previous Rumble appearances (and if you've ever seen the footage, you know that's no exaggeration). I'd just like to go on record now saying in no way, shape, or form do I want him to attempt to cheat death yet again on sat. And actually, ASIDE from the house issue, this should be a wonderfully fun weekend. It would actually devastate me if the tension surrounding that issue ruins what otherwise is one of my favorite weekends of the year. Hopefully, it got it's "ruining weekends" phase out last weekend. Speaking of which, last Saturday 9/24 we were at the Raleigh Road Drive-In in Henderson, NC for a little house show. An acceptable turnout as several fans watched from their cars as if the show WAS a movie. It was actually my first time at a Drive-In since 1987 and "Spaceballs" and man, I tell ya, there is some serious potential with those suckers I still feel.
1. Jesse Ortega pinned Michael McAllister in 6:47 -

A tough spot for McAllister to be in as his mind was obviously elsewhere and it showed. Several moments of miscommunication led to some awkwardness. I feel bad for the boys but it happens to everyone. 3/4*
2. American Steel Ninja pinned Alex Adonis in 10:19 - Pretty bland and some awkwardness here too. Just not a very smooth show in general so far. *
3. "Slick Diddy" Ric Converse pinned CWF/AWA Mid-Atlantic Television champion "A Very Handsome Man" Mitch Conner in 8:58 of a non-title match - Another match in this series (man, I need to check and see how many that is so far). Nothing you haven't seen before really, but solid all the way through. Too pros just out there doin' the thing. **3/4
4. CWF/AWA Mid-Atlantic tag team champions the $outh$ide Playas (J-Money and Will B. Smooth with Kiyia Moka in their corner) defeated Mikael Yamaha and Julius Augusuts in 15:19 when Smooth pinned Augustus -

Seriously enjoyable matchup thanks to the crowd being a little more alive cause of the over-the-top heels. Augustus breaks out a clean shaven look which serves him SO much better. Some miscommunication early between him and the Playas though which is strange as they've worked a few times. Yam's heeling was off the charts and has been on a serious roll as of late. It's amazing just HOW much better of a worker Yamaha is when he's happy in his personal life. I mean, he's worked 3-4 watchable matches in a row now. **3/4
5. CWF/AWA Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight champion Garry "Madd Trucker" Stevens pinned Rob "Boogie Woogie Man" McBride in 11:53 - What you'd expect, solid enough. Finish was freakin' horrible, especially considering they had a PERFECT finish and didn't do it, but oh well...hindsight 20/20 ya know? **
Football thoughts: The parity in the 2005 NFL season continues to run rampant with the dust settling after Week 3 and some of us dreaming of a Bengals-Bucs SuperBowl... The Pack's season is about one game away from being over and don't think for one second that Favre is gonna stick around past this year...What did I say in my preview about Chad Pennington staying healthy? J-E-T-S! J(ust) E(end) T(he) S(eason)!...If ANY team goes 9-7 this year, they're makin the playoffs. And an 11-5 team could very well have homefield throughout...Couple of topnotch games in Week 4 with the Chargers-Patriots and an awesome Eagles-Chiefs matchup.
Pick wise for Week 3 I was a bit busy so only got to round up a few and even with parity, we all did pretty darn well.
12-3: Grant Sawyer
11-4: Matty Dee, Randolph Hedrick
This past week in the Insiders Fantasy Football league, I went to 3-0 with another mauling in a 74 point win; in the battle of the other two top teams, Hedd edged Gemini Kid by 1 point to go 3-0 as well; McAllister beat Matty Dee by 46, who is now 0-3; and Yamaha shockingly went to 3-0 as well with a 77 point win over some hopeless jobber. This week is the big one with myself vs. Hedd as someone start 4-0, Gemini vs. Matty, and Yam vs. McAllister among the CWF crew matchups.
Ok guys, you got the basic update...more again one day even if it's just a quickie Rumble recap...Love to all!
